The pattern works because vulnerability signals confidence, not weakness. A seller who admits "We actually lost a client last year because we didn't communicate well enough during onboarding — here's what we changed" demonstrates both honesty and growth. The prospect thinks: "If they're willing to share that, they must be telling the truth about everything else."
The key to an effective Vulnerability Loop is relevance and resolution. The vulnerability shared must be relevant to the prospect's concerns (not random personal confession) and must include what was learned or changed as a result.
